US company, Dover Corporation has combined of two of its Dover Engineered Systems companies, Markem Corporation, located in Keene, NH, USA, and Imaje SA, located in Bourg-lès-Valence, France, to create Markem.Imaje. The business, which is now the world’s largest product identification solutions provider, will provide a comprehensive range of marking and coding solutions for packaging industry customers around the world.

“Markem and Imaje had always maintained a cordial competitive relationship that grew closer in 2006 when Markem joined Dover, Imaje’s corporate parent since 1995,” explained Omar Kerbage, president of Dover’s Product Identification Group. “Starting last December, the senior management teams of Markem and Imaje have been discussing opportunities for co-operation between the two companies. The conclusion was to form one business in order to increase the value provided to both our customers and shareholders.”

The combination of companies will create significant benefits for the customers and partners of both companies, including product breadth - a broad range of leading product identification hardware and software solutions from a single vendor; technology leadership - leading-edge technology combined; and global reach - worldwide sales, service, and channel partner organizations supporting small, medium, and large customers.

As a result of this integration, the new Markem.Imaje business has defined new common goals. According to the new company’s vision and mission statement, Markem.Imaje will strive to become its customers’ most trusted business partner in the product identification market in every corner of the world.
