Doug Wicks, a well-loved and respected produce professional has died, aged 50.
Doug fought illness “with courage and his ever present positive attitude” for the last year of his life before passing away on 26 August.
Doug ended his distinguished career in the industry with Tesco where he was one of the driving forces in Tesco’s move towards direct sourcing in produce, latterly running the European sourcing hub for Group Food Sourcing.
Through his career he worked at different levels within the supply chain Safeway, Hart World Wide, Interfresh, Coleacp and Capespan as well as on farms in his early career.
He was well liked throughout the produce trade and drew praise for his continual positive attitude and engaging personality.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday 8 September at Thornhill Cemetery and Crematorium in Cardiff.
