The Dale Foundation, the organisation behind fresh produce supplier Dole’s Ecuadorian and Peruvian-based aid programme, have won the Segundo Wong Award from the Ecuadorian Banana Exporters Association.
The award, in recognition of outstanding work in the pursuit of community goals, was handed out at the International Banana Forum in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Since its creation in 2011, the Dale Foundation has set up two elementary schools and 22 health clinics that benefit over 12,500 local families. The organisation also runs regular nutrition lectures on the dietary benefits of fruit and vegetables.
"We are honored to receive this prestigious award," said Sylvain Cuperlier, Dole's Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.
