Dole Europe has re-launched its pan-European website to include an interactive feature, called Planet Dole, which combines human stories with the latest in internet technology. Using satellite technology as its base, the new facility on dole.eu allows visitors to virtually experience the fruit expert’s presence and social impact around the world.

Alongside this new facility, the website has been completely re-designed with both consumers and the trade in mind. It has been made more accessible to visitors, and includes educational videos, press releases, and CSR information.

Planet Dole visitors can click onto key locations to find out information on significant

Dole employees, and learn what Dole is achieving in each area, in terms of growing, manufacturing and distributing its products. Philippines and Peru are two of the locations available to view on Planet Dole, with others such as Thailand, Costa Rica and Honduras to come.

The launch aims to raise the profile of Dole’s corporate responsibility policies, as well as providing a fun feature that can be used as an educational tool for children.

“This new interactive tool takes a popular satellite web program and brings Dole to life through it,” says Sylvain Cuperlier, director of worldwide corporate social responsibility at Dole. “It encourages consumers to interact with the brand in a new way and allows them to access Dole's worldwide reach at the touch of a button.

“We understand how important transparency is to consumers when it comes to making a decision on which products to purchase. For example, a 'virtual visit' to Peru provides a unique insight into the banana plantations, and Dole's impact on the community - from the organic projects through to the help provided in building classrooms at local schools.”
