Defra’s new chief scientist, Professor Robert Watson, is to speak at the Oxford Farming Conference, which will be held on January 2-4 2008.

The event, entitled A Climate of Change: Agriculture the Solution, not the Problem, already features a long line-up of speakers.

Professor Watson will speak on Friday, January 4, and will focus on climate change. For the past 11 years, he has worked at the World Bank on climate change and biodiversity issues, latterly as the bank’s chief scientist.
