Prue Leith officially reopened Penshurst Place Garden Tea Room

A deal has been penned between Produced in Kent and Leith’s, the caterer for Penshurst Place, to serve more produce in the historical home’s newly furbished Garden Tea Room.

Prue Leith, founder of Leith’s, said the company continues to build its relationship with Penshurst Place with the refurbishment of the tea room, and the signing of the agreement with Produced in Kent on 8 April.

She said: “We look forward to working together to bring more Kentish produce to the menus we deliver to customers.”

Julie Monkman, manager of Produced in Kent, said: “This is the first such agreement signed of its kind for Produced in Kent and we look forward to working with Leith’s to support this commitment to using more local Kentish producers at Penshurst Place.”

Viscount De L’Isle, owner of Penshurst Place, said: “At Penshurst we strive to give visitors the best. This is hopefully just the beginning of the process to have local superlative Kentish produce as key ingredients to what we present to our customers at Penshurst Place.”
