De Ruiter Seeds BV has announced a reshuffle of its seed supply to accommodate its acquisition by Monsanto and its subsidiary companies last year and Monsanto's buy-out of the Seminis Group of Companies prior to that.

With a goal of ensuring a smooth transition and good service to customers, Seminis will focus entirely on open field crops and De Ruiter on protected crops.

As of September 1, De Ruiter will be responsible for tomato, cucumber, aubergine and pepper seeds from its UK office in Southampton.

Meanwhile Seminis will handle brassicas, carrots, leeks, onions, peas and beans, leafy salads, pumpkins, squash and sweetcorn from its office in King’s Lynn.
