Tesco chief executive Dave Lewis has been announced as the speaker for the 2018 City Food Lecture.
The event, which is organised by seven City livery companies from across the fresh food sector, attracts 700 leading industry figures and takes place next year on 28 February at London's Guildhall.
City Food Lecture organising chairman John Giles said: “We are thrilled to have Dave speaking at the event next year. His far-reaching experience with Tesco and some of the UK’s biggest brands is likely to provide guests with plenty of thought-provoking insights.”
The lecture will be followed by a panel debate, as well as an informal networking supper in the Guildhall’s Old Library room.
Previous keynote speakers at the City Food Lecture include Professor Chris Elliot, The Future Foundation's Christophe Jouan, Sainsbury’s chief executive Justin King, Unilever chief executive Paul Polman and former Cadbury Schweppes chairman John Sunderland.
