The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and North American Produce Sales have recalled batches of Mexican mangoes.
The authorities are warning the public not to consume certain batches of Daniella brand mangoes because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Braenderup bacteria.
The affected fruit was sold loose bearing PLU4959 stickers at various retailers between 12 July and 24 August throughout Canada.
It has taken Taiwan eight years of negotiation to gain access for the fruit
