Crop Solutions launched its new Cover Rolling Machine, designed to protect crops using fleece, polythene or insect net, at Fruit Focus.
The patented machine has the capacity to roll up more than 20,000sqm of crop covers on to a single core and received considerable interest from growers at the company’s inaugural exhibition at the event.
It was successfully demonstrated three times during the show at East Malling Research centre and goes into production next month, available from January 2010.
Ian Campbell, managing director of Crop Solutions, told freshinfo: “Due to its ability to easily roll up large quantities of fleece with the new removable cores, it has already attracted a lot of interest from growers.
“The machine is unique as it can unroll all types of new fleece, polythene, and insect net. It can roll them on to a metal core for reuse the next year. It can unroll them off these cores. In addition, it can roll up crop cover with a removable core for recycling or disposal.
“It has a hydraulic headstock and can handle cores from 1m to 5.2m wide and weighing up to 1,000kg.”
Crop Solutions Ltd also supplies high-quality insect net, bird net, fleece, black mulch and ground covers.
