Covent Garden Market Authority’s chief executive Jan Lloyd and the London wholesale market’s tenants’ association’s chair Gary Marshall are set to answer the industry’s questions as part a debate panel at the FPJ Conferences - South East event.

Marshall, of New Covent Garden Market’s (NCGM) Bevington Salads, will speak alongside Lloyd and the market’s BDM Zeenat Anjari about what NCGM and its traders can do for the industry and where they see the future of wholesale in the South East at the Kent event on 23 June.

This will feature as part of a section entitled The Changing Climate, which will also include an account of how the changing environment is altering the way and where fresh produce is grown, as well as a presentation giving advise on how to utilise the communicative means of the future, social networking.

The conference, which will take place at the Oakwood House Hotel in Maidstone, will also tackle issues such as seasonal labour, the shortage of younger people in the industry, product marketing and increasing efficiencies, as well as feature an interactive farmers' market style exhibition.
