Country Crest, a leading Irish potato supplier, has added a ‘ready to cook’ consumer product range to its array of fresh potato products.
The ready prepared and par-cooked products, which are now available at major multiples across Ireland, have an emphasis on healthy ingredients and taste, according to its makers.
The range, which was developed using the Rooster and Karlena varieties, includes Spicy Chilli Wedges, Baked Potatoes with Cream Cheese and Traditional Potato cakes.
The Potato Cake line also features Mediterranean Potato Cakes with Roast Pepper and Feta Cheese - a popular choice for the increasingly diverse consumer base in Ireland, according to the supplier.
The ‘ready to cook’ range is expected to include 40 products by the end of 2007.
The company will now focus on extending the range to include products with reduced salt levels and a lower fat content.
