Maxime Delacour

Pink Lady’s UK master licensor Coregeo has appointed an assistant marketing manager following Michelle Toft’s promotion to chief marketing officer.

Maxime Delacour, who joins the business from Pink Lady Europe, will focus on Coregeo’s two best-known produce brands, Pink Lady apples and Tenderstem.

Coregeo said it has committed to an “extensive programme of marketing” for both brands in 2015, with the support of several specialist agencies for advertising, PR and experiential activity.

Managing director, Andy Macdonald, said: “Both Tenderstem and Pink Lady have performed well in the past 12 months, but we have ambitious and far-reaching plans for our brands in 2015 and beyond, so it is crucial that we have the right people in place to ensure that we can achieve them.”

Delacour will work closely with Coregeo’s licencees for Tenderstem and Pink Lady, and maintain momentum of Pink Lady’s sponsorship of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year awards and Tenderstem’s involvement with the Guild of Food Writers.

Toft’s remit as chief marketing officer will be to develop new initiatives and extend Coregeo’s brands beyond fresh produce.

She will also develop marketing plans to support retailers and growers, and to encourage trials of both brands.

Pink Lady raises money for Stroke Association

London marathon runners for apple brand Pink Lady will this year raise money for the Stroke Association.

As part of the partnership, Stroke Association will provide one of the runners who will be selected via its supporters’ network and social media channels. Pink Lady provides four places for runners dressed up as a Pink Lady, as well as providing all finishers with an apple as official apple of the race.

Jim Swindells, director of fundraising for the Stroke Association said: “We’re delighted that Pink Lady apples has chosen to support us in this way and we’ll be working closely with them to make sure we find the perfect runner to wear the fabulous Pink Lady apple outfit.'

Toft said: “The Virgin Money London Marathon is such a wonderful, inspirational spectacle and we always enjoy being part of it.

“Often our runners choose their own charities but this year we’ve chosen to support Stroke Association. It’s not as well-known as some charities and yet strokes affect so many people and their friends and families in this country and the charity does such fabulous work to help them all.”
