Temperatures in Mediterranean areas of Spain plunged again last week slowing down plant development and leading to delays in product coming forward for harvest. Lines particularly affected are outdoor leafy green vegetables such as spinach and Romaine lettuce. Iceberg has been hit to a lesser extent. “We have been experiencing a lot of variation in temperatures,” said Quique Oliver of exporter Agriveg.
