Agrexco is now sending its first volumes of tri-colour pepper Conny to the UK market.
Produced by grower Sulat, Conny is a cone-shaped pepper available in red, yellow and orange and is exported from October until the end of May.
Conny has a high brix content and high levels of vitamin C, and is grown in climate-controlled greenhouses.
Itzhak Shai, product manager for Agrexco, said: “Cooling in the controlled greenhouses during the hot summer months enables planting of Conny peppers in July, which means the export season starts early, with the first Conny peppers to appear on the market soon. Heating during the cold winter months assures continuous harvesting of the pepper according to the same quality standards.”
The greenhouses are protected by biological protection system Bio B.
