Delegates at the recent Oxford Farming Conference raised almost £2,500 for survivors of the south-east Asian tsunami.

"Every penny raised will be given to a charity focused on giving long term assistance to those whose farming or fishing livelihood has been destroyed by waves and salt contamination," said Christopher Monk, who will chair next year’s conference

"I am delighted that delegates responded with such generosity. I am sure the money we have raised will be put to good use."

The 2006 Oxford Farming Conference takes place on January 3-5, 2006.
