Ball Colegrave is set to acquire plug plant producer Bordon Hill Nurseries, subject to due diligence.
The acquisition will see the present Bordon Hill management team remaining in place and headed up by general manager Peter Byrne.
Bordon Hill has a production area of approximately 24 acres, with the firm already producing over 220 million seed raised plugs for Ball Colegrave.
Sandy Shepherd, managing director of Ball Colegrave, said that the close working relationship the two companies have had over the last 30 years, providing plugs for the UK market.
“The acquisition of Bordon Hill Nurseries enables us to further strengthen our position in the UK market by securing more direct control of the supply chain. This is a great opportunity for Ball Colegrave and we are now preparing for the future planned expansion of the business,” he noted.
