Co-op first with organic Fairtrade grapes

The Co-op has brought the first Fairtrade organic grapes to the UK. This follows on from the launch of last month's launch of Co-op fairtrade grapes.

The organic grapes come from Valentin Farms in the Orange River region on South Africa, and the seedless grapes carry the independent Fairtrade mark.

To mark the launch the Co-op is cutting prices of the organic grapes from £2.99 to £1.49 until January 25.

David Croft, of the Co-op, said: “We are delighted to be the first to market fairtrade organic grapes. We hope that the introductory price promotion will encourage customers to try the products and seek out other fairtrade products in the future.”
