Boston brassica specialist TH Clements has announced an investment of over £1 million in the past few weeks to introduce 15 New Holland T7 tractors to its Lincolnshire operations alongside additional recruitment at the firm’s main Bennington site.
The new models boast strong efficiencies, including 25 per cent better fuel efficiency, lower emissions and reduced noise levels.
Clements managing director Chris Gedney said: “Although one of the most challenging growing seasons in living memory, 2012 has been a remarkable success story in the Clements history.
“After two awards early on in the year we have gone from strength to strength in terms of supply and are investing heavily in the company’s infrastructure to keep up with retailer demand.”
Clements operates on 3,000 hectares across Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Cornwall – producing cabbages, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower for its main retail partner Tesco as well as wholesale market customers.
Gedney said: “In these tough times we have been able to make the significant purchases that enable us, as a business, to remain at the forefront of supply excellence. We have increased our workforce to meet with customer demand and are hopeful for a strong Christmas supply period.”
