Wholesaler Class One has teamed up with veg box delivery service Snap! to send wholesale produce to retail consumers too.
Class One, which started life as a market stall on Skipton High Street and now supplies chefs, schools and caterers across Yorkshire, has just made its first delivery to the Thirsk-based start-up box scheme.
Now local foodies can get Class One produce delivered to their door, including Yorkshire tomatoes, onions and beetroot, Lancashire kale and British cox apples.
Each fruit and veg delivery will be packed into a Snap! box alongside recipe cards for three healthy, local meals for two or four people.
Class One director Ben Cluny, a third generation greengrocer who got his passion for fresh produce from his granddad and dad Chris, says he loved the family ethos behind Snap!
“We love the fact Snap! is a family business like ours,” said Ben. “And we share the same passion for quality and commitment to provide customers with the freshest, tastiest ingredients from as many local farmers, growers and independent food producers as possible.”
Charles Allen, who launched Snap! with his brother Geoff, added: “We are delighted to be working with Class One, a fellow North Yorkshire business.
“Class One are supplying us with the ingredients for our Yorkshire recipe boxes to ensure we have the very best locally sourced fresh produce. Working together on what’s in season and coming soon is helping us to shape our recipes to make them even better for our customers.”
