Chip-loving celebrity Angela Griffin spent a few hours sizzling with the ‘Chippie Dales’, recruited from the nation’s chip shops, to attract national media interest to the 15th National Chip Week (February 13-19).
More than 750 chip shops, together with pubs, caterers and retailers are supporting the promotion organised by the British Potato Council, which points out that chips account for around a third of British potato consumption, while chip shops use about 10 per cent of the national crop.
