Chilean fresh fruit exporters association Asoex has called on the Chilean government to clarify its export policy for products other than copper to help protect the interests of Chile’s fresh produce sector.
The association’s president Ronald Bown said that although it appreciated government efforts so far, more work is required.
“It is the responsibility of the authorities to explain the long-term export policy,” said Bown.
“We must demand this to defend the sustainability of the sector, especially in regard to the future of our workers, apart from building rights such as equal opportunities, both in the workplace and in business.”
