Cristian Allendes Marin has been elected the new president of Chilean national fruit-growers' federation Fedefruta. He will hold the office for two years and replaces Antonio Walker Prieto.
Allendes Marin is the principal partner in grower-exporter La Hornilla which produces grapes, plums, kiwifruit, avocados and nectarines. Allendes Marin has been a director of Fedefruta for 10 years and is president of ChileGAP.
La Hornilla has won national acclaim in Chile for financial, social and environmental sustainability.
