Chef of the Year competition launches for 2012

The UK's most prestigious culinary competition, The National Chef of the Year, is now accepting entries for the 2012 heats.

It is the competition that catapulted the careers of the likes of Frederick Forster, Simon Hulstone, David Pitchford, Mark Sargeant, David Everitt-Matthias, Louis Jones and Gordon Ramsay.

David Mulcahy, vice president of the Craft Guild of Chefs said: “We urge any chef who thinks they have what it takes to win this coveted prize, to enter the competition.

"Winning The National Chef of The Year title is a significant accolade and again, 2012 features a prize fund in excess of £15,000."

Entires are open until 20 April.
