A new company offering weekly retail price information has set up in Boston, Lincolnshire.
checkfresh this week launched its weekly surveys, which will cover the whole range of fresh produce available on the UK’s retail shelves. Information is collated into category sectors, such as fruit, vegetables, salads, organics, potatoes, prepared produce etc.
Customers can subscribe to a category for less than £6 a week, said checkfresh managing director David Tebbutt. He added: “It is always vital that suppliers are fully aware of what is happening in the retailers and never more so than at the moment. With the credit crunch affecting all of us retailers are fighting hard to attract customers and are extremely active in promoting fresh produce. Our reports help to keep suppliers fully informed of the latest developments”
Retailers are visited on a weekly basis, on the day they routinely change prices, to ensure data is as up to the minute as possible. Reports are then emailed directly to subscribers.
