Chantenay aims for revival

A leading carrot producer is spearheading a campaign to revive sales of baby Chantenay carrots.

Nottinghamshire-based Fresh Growers Limited (Fresh Gro) is aiming to educate consumers about Chantenay by creating a recognisable identity and brand for the carrots.

Martin Evans, md, said: “There is currently no source of information for UK consumers wanting to know more about Chantenay, which we aim to put right with the launch of a new website.

“We have also commenced a media campaign which focuses on the superior taste, the carrots versatility and its popularity with children.”

Fresh Gro has spent the past five years building enough volume to make the speciality carrot available to UK customers nationwide, year-round.

The company has invested significantly in ensuring ensure the crop’s success, using computerised technology to control moisture and disease levels, and a specially designed soil nutrition system to keep the mineral levels in balance.
