Berry grower Chambers has announced three new appointments as it steps up its 2019 expansion plans.
Vicky Rye has joined the company as group financial director. Previously financial director at Capespan and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Rye has 16 years’ experience of the fresh produce industry. Her role will be to oversee the financial operations of Chambers Farms and Chambers Imports, backed by a team of five.
Andrée King has been appointed as operations manager in a newly created role. She previously ran a farm for 15 years which diversified to include a farm shop and children’s play centre. King has an HND in agriculture and brings extensive quality assurance and industry compliance experience, according to the company.
King is set to play a key role in the establishment of a new sub-brand that Chambers plans to launch in early 2019.
George Beedell, meanwhile, takes up the role of commercial manager, working alongside commercial director James Miller.
Beedell is a graduate of Newcastle University (agriculture and business management) and also successfully completed the two-year Management Development Services course.
He has previously worked for Dole and more recently Capespan, latterly as a procurement manager for topfruit. He will be responsible for generating new listings for Chambers and will oversee the day-to-day handling of specific key accounts.
