Chief executive of Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA) Jan Lloyd is stepping down after seven years in the role.
Lloyd is currently working a six-month notice period, and CGMA said it cannot disclose where she is moving to due to confidentiality reasons.
The organisation is now looking for a replacement for Lloyd, who has overseen the planning and permission stages for the major redevelopment of New Covent Garden Market. The CGMA chief executive role is managed and recruited by the government through Defra.
Helen Evans, CGMA director of business development, said it was a “natural” moment for Lloyd to leave as the redevelopment project moves into a new phase with the commencement of building work.
“Pam Alexander and the board are deeply sorry to see Jan go. She has got the market through the crucial stages of the redevelopment, and we are now in the delivery stages. We were very lucky to have her for this long,” she said.
