Leif Mills CBE will serve an additional 12 months as chairman of the Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA). His appointment will now run until March 31 2005.
Mills has been CGMA chairman since April 1998 and his time in the position was set to expire on March 31 2004. Throughout his career he has held prominent positions in a number of organisations including: the TUC General Council, the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, and the Council of the Consumers' Association.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that The Princess Royal will visit the market at Nine Elms on October 1.
