Two re-appointments have been made to the board of the Covent Garden Market Authority.

Valerie Owen OBE and Stephen Plent, who have both been members of the CGMA since May 2005, have been re-appointed until May 22, 2011.

Both appointments have been approved by minister for food and farming Lord Rooker.

Owen has been managing director of London First and chairman of its Sustainable Development Taskforce, as well as director of international real estate consultants Jones Lang LaSalle, non-executive director of Barts and the London NHS Trust, the National Forest Company, Places for People Group and Generator Group. She is also managing director of a consultancy specialising in community regeneration and sustainable development.

Plent, who is a member of the Chartered Institute of Transport, has been general manager of operations at Stansted Airport and corporate group head of transport and ground support at BAA plc. Previously, he was director of operations for transport at Brighton & Hove City Council.
