The event, which is set for March 19-20, features exhibitors, field trips and awards and will take place at the Hotel and Convention Center Casa Santo Domingo

Agexport promotes rural development in Guatemala through several institutional initiatives that contribute to the main goal "to double exports and employment in four years as a step to reduce poverty".

The fair is created to strengthen production and marketing in agricultural sectors, to diversify markets and products, to look for a better design and implementation of systems for development, sanitary and phytosanitary issues and increase development to reach competitiveness at the framework of the globalisation.

Agricultural exports from Guatemala grew during the last four years to an annual average of 20 per cent. Main markets of Guatemalan products are the US, Europe and Asia.
