Growers and cookery enthusiasts are to meet in Chichester to celebrate the versatility and health benefits of the tomato. They will converge on West Dean Gardens for the Totally Tomato Show on September 3 and 4.
The event, sponsored by Waitrose, gives growers the opportunity to share tips on how to achieve a better yield. Chefs will produce a variety of dishes from tomato relishes to tomato-flavoured sausages, highlighting the fruit’s diversity.
Over 100 varieties will be on show, including the Brandywine and the less conventional Purple Calabash.
