Capespan UK’s commercial manager Graham Allen has died, aged 55, after falling ill earlier this year.

He was a well-known figure in the fresh produce industry, particularly in Scotland, after beginning his career with Fyffes Multifresh north of the border and later for the Scottish-based Glass Glover Group - although he himself was based in Harlow.

Graham joined Capespan in 1998, handling the operational side of the business.

Capespan’s trading director Martin Dunnett said: “Graham was a great friend and colleague to all of us here at Capespan, we are all immensely saddened by his untimely parting - the trade has lost one of the truly nice guys in our industry.”

Graham leaves his wife, Irene, a son and a daughter.
