Capespan’s first South African grape of the new season arrived this week. The debut shipment aboard the MSC France docked at Sheerness on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the company said: “This is the very first grape from the earliest part of the Northern Province. It was picked in the last week of October. Capespan has 26 pallets of Prime Seedless white grape on board the vessel. The quality is good.”
The South African export company is expecting volumes to build from next week when it will welcome its first Namibian Flame Seedless red grape from the Aussenkehr region to the UK market.
