The CLA claims a string of cancelled countryside events could cost the rural economy as much as £240 million.
Many events, including the CLA Game Fair held at to Belvoir Castle, were called off due to heavy rainfall.
Around £82 million was expected to be spent on site during the CLA Game Fair, which was due to take place from 20 to 22 July, with an additional £34 million due to be spent in the local economy by a potential 140,000 visitors.
The CLA said that if smaller events were taken into account, the losses from cancelled shows could be as high as £240 million for the UK's rural economy.
CLA president Harry Cotterell concludes: “Not only is it heart-breaking when decisions are taken to cancel an event, the direct and indirect economic impacts can be devastating for all concerned."
