The first visit starts at 1.00pm at River Farm, Staplehurst and will feature Cameo orchards in their first, second and third years in four-row beds.

The second visit is at Howfield Farm, Chartham, Nr Canterbury at 3.00pm where there are orchards in their first, second, third, fourth and fifth years.

European Cameo manager Fiona Davidson, UK marketing agent Andy Sadler of Norman Collett and Adrian Barlow of English Apples & Pears will give short presentations at the end of the visits.

According to the Cameo club, there are some 400,000 trees of the variety planted in Europe, 12.5 per cent of them in the UK.

Meanwhile, supplies of Caudle trees which produce the trademarked Cameo variety are available for planting this winter from JR Breach at Chittenden Orchards, Staplehurst.
