Apple crop pollination in California was 'optimised' during the bloom period this spring, reported trade association USApple, thanks to ideal weather conditions.

Bloom was reported to be moderate to heavy in most growing regions and crop development is advancing on a schedule that is normal to slightly ahead of normal. Growers also reported that chilling requirements appear to have been met in most production regions in the state which kicks off the US apple season in August. Chilling requirements have also be adequate across the range of varieties.
