Broccoli crisps

One bag of vegetable crisps equals one of your 5 A DAY

Vegetable suppliers may have a new route to market with the launch of a new range of crisps made purely from freeze-dried fresh produce.

Produced under new brand The Giving Tree, the crisps have won listings in specialist retailers Holland & Barrett, Whole Foods and Planet Organic, and are said to provide one out of the 5 A DAY.

Vegetable flavours include broccoli, pumpkin and mixed veg, alongside fruit offerings of strawberry, apple, mango and peach.

They are produced by freeze-drying fresh produce – a process which is said to retain all nutritional value – and are described as high in potassium, fibre and antioxidants.

Targeting on-the-go but health-conscious consumers, the crisps are being marketed as “light weight and convenient, perfect for lunch boxes, bike rides or long treks”.

Owners of The Giving Tree also produce CHI Coconut Water.
