Bristol Fruit Sales expands refrigerated fleet

South-West based Bristol Fruit Sales, importer, wholesaler and distributor of fresh produce to retailers and catering establishments throughout the UK, has taken delivery of a quantity of 7.5 tonne and 26t refrigerated vehicles from Gray & Adams.

The vehicles are operating out of the company’s main site in Bristol and its specialist packing, consolidation and distribution facility in Bodmin.

The single-temperature 26 tonners have an internal length of 8.4m, an interior height of 2,400mm and an interior width of 2,460mm. Refrigeration is provided by a Carrier Supra 950 refrigeration system. For ease of loading, the vehicles are fitted with Dhollandia DH-RMS tuck away tail lifts with 2,200mm wide and 1,450mm deep platforms. For extra protection against wear and tear, the floor has been fitted with 4’0 of chequerplate at the rear.

Robert Smith, managing director of Bristol Fruit Sales, said: “We continue to purchase from Gray & Adams because over time their vehicles have consistently proven to be of the highest quality. This is reflected in the durability of the bodywork. As we utilise both our vehicles and trailers intensively to provide the highest level of service to our own customers, the Gray & Adams equipment has genuinely been tested to the limit.”

The 7.5t vehicles have an external length of 5,030mm, an interior height of 2,200mm and an interior width of 2,360mm. Access into the bodies is via triple rear doors and double folding steps. To suit the single temperature application, the vehicles have Thermoking SDZ 50 R-404-A refrigeration systems.
