'This has included strengthening the customer interface of the business from a commercial, operational and product development perspective; Taking a more dynamic approach to our expanding own-crop programme and the sourcing of foreign produce; Investing in modern farming practices and packing equipment aimed at improving operational efficiencies; Developing the skills and focus of our workforce; And improving business information systems.'

He added: 'We remain a progressive business focused on delivering quality, service and innovations to the best possible value.

'The business remains focused on its existing strategy, and is continuing to enjoy trading benefits from the ongoing hard work and investments being made.'
