The 3,000th child to enter the bus celebrates the occasion

Billy Branston’s Amazing Potato Factoryhas now welcomed over 3,000 children on board to learn about potatoes and theirjourney from farm to fork.

Conceived by leading potato supplier, Branston, the initiative has seen adouble decker bus converted into a fully functioning mobile classroom touringprimary schools nationwide.

The company is supporting the Tesco Eat HappyProject, which aims to educate schoolchildren about where their food comes
from.

This week (w/c 5 January), the potato bus visited Billinghay Primary School, in Lincolnshire, and Billy Branstonpaid a special visit to the school to celebrate the 3,000th child on board.

The vehicle hosts a variety of activities where children can gain hands-onexperience and learn more about how potatoes are grown as well as whathappens in a real potato factory.

Activities on board the bus are tailored to fit with the Key Stage One and Twoframeworks, with nutrition and healthy eating also playing an important role.
