Bramley bake-off for Tesco

English top-fruit marketing desk Norman Collett, in partnership with the Tesco regional procurement team for the South East, is launching a cooking competition in Kent to find a new recipe for Bramley.

Cooks of all ages have been invited to enter, from Year 5 primary school pupils and Year 9 secondary school pupils to students studying catering or hospitality at Kent’s colleges. There is already a Women’s Institute winner in the form of Marian Cox, with her take on a traditional spiced apple cake.

The winners of each category will have their picture, the name of their school or college and their recipe appear on thousands of recipe cards, which will be available to Kent shoppers in the county’s Tesco branches during the sale of the 200th crop of Bramley apples.
