The British Potato Council (BPC) has devised a campaign that will run from June to August reminding consumers that potatoes form an essential part of a healthy diet.

The campaign will focus on the core health benefits, that potatoes are low in fat and salt, rich in Vitamin C and complex carbohydrate.

Multiple retailers are taking part using the BPC's 'Fab not Fad' and 'Fuel for healthy living logs'. And will be supporting by having in-store sampling, on-pack labelling, recipe cards and nutritional information. Furthermore, a BPC recipe set will be sent to thousands of people through newspaper promotions.

The BPC's educational bus will continue to visit a number of cities. Nutritional advice will be available from dieticians while healthy potato meals will be cooked on the bus and available to sample.

Strong third-party support has been received fro organisations like the British Nutrition Foundation and the British Dietetic Association to back up the messages regarding healthy eating.
