This spring, all BPC levy payers will receive a copy of the new leaflet, which details practical advice for controlling aphids and includes a list of all active ingredients available and their allocated resistance.

'Several independent research organisations and commercial companies have collaborated expertise and funding,' said BPC research and development director Mike Storey. 'The entire project is geared to delivering practical guidelines using our combined resources. This research approach is a highly efficient and cost-effective method for helping the industry prevent the multi-million pound losses it would face if resistance in aphids increased.' The leaflet is the outcome of a three-year co-sponsored LINK project involving the BPC, Adas, IACR-Rothamsted, Crop Care and QV Foods.
