Exotic and fresh-cut fruit supplier Blue Skies is the latest produce firm to announce its support for charity motorcycle ride The Great Fruit Adventure.
The company will host a visit from intrepid motorcyclists Max MacGillivray and Gareth Jones at its site in Ghana, as part of their journey from London to Cape Town between November 2016 and February 2017.
The Great Fruit Adventure aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of eating fresh fruit and vegetables and knowing where it comes from. It has already received backing and industry support from the likes of Waitrose, Fairtrade Foundation and Coregeo.
The team will stop off at Blue Skies Ghana in December where they plan to meet people at the factory and farms and visit some of the company’s development projects.
“We are very proud to announce another key supporter to The Great Fruit Adventure,” the pair wrote on Facebook. “Anthony Pile and his team have been utterly brilliant in setting up the trip and assisting with a planned trip to their main site in Ghana.”
