Some of the foremost logistics companies and truck manufacturers will meet for a gala event at the start of the Love Logistics campaign next month.

The Logistics Showcase on 13 April at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham will see attendees from throughout the logistics industry congregate to celebrate the sector.

The event will also kickstart the Love Logistics campaign, which seeks to raise the profile of the sector among the public and to help them understand the vital role logistics plays in their everyday lives.

Showcase guests will be treated to the premieres of four short films, commissioned specially for Love Logistics, highlighting different aspects of the sector.

The Freight Transport Association has announced the supporters and sponsors for the brand-new black tie event as DHL, Kuehne + Nagel, TDG, and Wincanton - taking up the role of Logistics Champions - while manufacturers DAF, Isuzu, Iveco, Mercedes Benz and Volvo join 3PLs Norbert Dentressangle and CEVA Logistics as Logistics Supporters.

Theo de Pencier, FTA chief executive, said: “To have the cream of the logistics crop behind Showcase is a fantastic boost for the event. This is going to be a true celebration of all we have achieved as a sector, in spite of the difficulties of the past year, and we are delighted to have the industry leaders on board.”

Hosted by BBC presenter Kate Silverton and taking place on the first evening of the CVO Show, Logistics Showcase will bring together all aspects of the sector, from suppliers to buyers and logistics companies to trade bodies.
