Biofresh will be showcasing the mark II version of its Smartpallet at Fruit Logistica. Smartpallet releases carefully controlled low concentrations of ozone in containers of fresh produce for 30 days or more, and has already been used for transporting products such as mangoes to Los Angeles, melons to Miami, plantains to New York and lychees to Paris.

“Ozone treatment has taken a growing role in the preservation of produce during storage over the last few years, but the introduction of Smartpallet provides a simple way of implementing treatment during transit,” said Biofresh director Jonathan Caisley.
