Bumblebee pollination company, Biobest Biological Systems, has developed a new Mini-Hive suited to the pollination of fruit and vegetable crops in small compartments.

Despite its compact size, BBS claimed the new hive offers the same qualities as its larger hive. Both have a ventilation system to maintain an ideal climate inside; a structure to ensure a hygienic environment; a ready-to-use lockable feeding bottle; and a user-friendly Bee-lock sliding system.

All attributes make the hive maintenance-free, BBS added, and as Biobest-bumblebees have no social laws, they start working at dawn and continue until sunset, every day of the week, the company says.
