For the first time ever, a special exhibition on environment-friendly and bio-degradable packaging will be held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center on April 21-27 during international packaging show Interpack 2005.

Innovationparc Bioplastics in Packaging will update trade visitors about the developments in this packaging sub-sector as well as reveal potential new applications.

IBAW, the international association for bioplastics and biodegradable polymers will be represented by 16 of its members and is also running a forum alongside the show.

"The special exhibition is proof of the increasing importance of bioplastics," said Harald Kaeb, IBAW's chairman. Interest from packaging users is unmistakable and the timing is perfect."

Environment friendly packaging is growing both in the range of products and in the number of users demonstrates the market potential.

Material producers, converters and packaging producers will showcase their products and the forum which runs alongside the show will highlight application possibilities and conditions for market introduction as well as economic and legislative framework conditions, perspectives of a wider market introduction, questions concerning quality assurance and labelling, and new waste recovery options.
