Richard Binks, former technical manager at The Greenery UK, has launched a new technical services business.
FreshTec Agricultural Consultancy is targeting the fresh produce and wider food industry globally with the aim of enabling companies involved in the food chain worldwide to strengthen their business position by achieving technical excellence.
Services provided by Huntingdon-based FreshTec include short to medium-term interim technical management as well as specific project management services such as new product and variety development; quality management system auditing and management; and pesticide and farm assurance strategy.
Binks has more than 20 years’ experience of working in agriculture and fresh produce in the UK and overseas.
After completing his education, Binks spent four years working as a vegetable and salads consultant at Adas, then a further six years as a technical manager for companies such as Mack Multiples and Bedfordshire Growers before joining Greenery UK in 2007.
He said: “FreshTec was born from a desire to provide sound technical advice and support to businesses seeking that all essential technical dimension, which can strengthen their position in an already competitive market.”
